Birthday!

Yesterday was my 30th birthday. Ahhh! Wow! Where does the time go?

I had a great day yesterday (for a Wednesday, work day). My co-workers are fabulous and brought so many treats and goodies to work. I had many visitors to wish me a happy birthday, telling me how young I am (most of my co-workers are 40 or older), and I became very full of chocolate cake, chocolate cupcakes w/ chocolate covered strawberries, chocolate cookies (do you see a pattern here?!).

I told my husband that all I wanted for my birthday this year (besides a baby-but that's obvious) was a fabulous birthday cake that was professionally made. I wanted to put ALL 30 candles on it and blow ALL 30 candles out - burn the house down, so to speak. I came home from work (still full) and there was my husband and my pretty cake. Marble cake with thick, white frosting. 30 frosting candles around the outside and 30 real candles on top. Sugar overload for sure. We did our celebration with the cake, but I was too full to have a piece until today!

For the past few weeks, I've been counting down the last days of my twenties. I'm sad to see them go, but looking forward to what my 30s may bring. In my 20s, I had school, school, and more school. No more of that! In my 20s, I was primarily worried about being able to drink, getting carded, getting married, and then getting a job. Don't have to worry about that so much now. By my late 20s, having babies became my concern with 9 IUIs. No more IUIs now! My worry about making babies hasn't gone away, but I do have hope that I won't have to worry about that for much longer with my upcoming [successful] IVF. I might be putting all my proverbial eggs into one basket, but what else am I gonna do?

So, as one of my bestest friends wrote in her sweet birthday card to me, I "can't wait to see what the future brings".
